Mitchell Blutt, the current CEO of the healthcare investment firm Consonance Capital, is known in professional circles as the first physician to join the healthcare investment field at an executive level. Mitchell Blutt also works as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Cornell University’s Weill Cornell Medical College. As a top-ranked medical school and research center, the Weill Cornell Medical College is in its 89th year of partnership with the New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

New York-Presbyterian Hospital, also known as NYP, is ranked the number one hospital in the New York Metropolitan Area by U.S. News and World Report. With a staff of more than 6,500 physicians and 20,000 other employees, NYP is able to treat hundreds of thousands of patients per year.

NYP manages six medical campuses throughout New York City and oversees a network of smaller regional hospitals. In addition to its collection of hospitals, NYP also runs the NYP Physician Service organization and the NYP Community and Population Health Organization.

In order to achieve its research and treatment goals, NYP maintains a close partnership with the Weill Cornell Medical College and the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. These relationships, as well as NYP’s high standard of excellence, have helped the hospital become a leader in patient care, medical education, and research.
